I love this song! This and "Put The Message in the Bottle" are fantastic. One of my first roommates loved it too, and sung it so loud, so often that it almost ruined it for me. lol.
As for the Waterboys, "We Will Not Be Lovers" is a pretty great track & worth checking out.
There's a big gray area of alternative rock that I never looked into before this project. I've definitely found some great music as a result (I'm really loving The Replacements and XTC, for example), and others I've certainly appreciated but just didn't do much for me. World Party is more the latter, though I really did like the instrumental portion of "Way Down Now."
Based on comments I've received both here and in other social media outlets, I do think I need to look into The Waterboys, though. They seem to be a bigger favorite than I would have thought.
I definitely did not know that one! It's pretty good! I suspect The Waterboys are far more popular and beloved in the U.K., though I imagine they were known well enough by U.S. alt-radio listeners and programmers in the early '90s to help World Party get to the top.

The Waterboys! In case you don't know it, I highly recommend their song "The Whole of the Moon," which is one of my all-time favorite alt-rock hits.
