I was a bigger fan of this one than "I Feel You." I really like the lyrics and production. It is pretty different from some of their earlier work but it's a solid tune!
I liked them both equally, but for different reasons. "I Feel You" is more of an everyday track, whereas "Walking In My Shoes" belongs near the top of a very specific playlist, one that's cold and industrial, hands-off yet engaging, if that makes sense. The song is good, but it just feels like it needs to fit a mood in order to appreciate it fully.
I love Songs Of Faith And Devotion. It’s one of my favourite DM albums and Walking In My Shoes is one of my favourite tracks. It definitely is dark and moody but I love it for that. Dave Gahan’s vocals on Condemnation are second to none. I get similar vibes from their later album Playing The Angel which is also excellent.
Not sure if you’ve ever heard Finger Eleven’s cover of “Walking In My Shoes” but I’ve always loved it. It was definitely on my gym playlists back in the day along with Fuel, Staind, Linkin Park etc, etc: https://open.spotify.com/track/0QqfS66lcdTHSN0aTBhpQi

Am I the only one that got George Michael vibes when this song was originally released?
All kidding aside, I think this one has aged quite gracefully, and it translated very well to a live setting during their recent tour.
On a final note, Ghosts Again from their last album is a total jam.
I'll bet it's amazing played live.

That's pretty rad, actually! I like it!
