Possible hot take: Divine Hammer > Cannonball.

As for "Into Your Arms," I think your theory is dead on; people were ready for something nice, a bit of a sonic pallette cleanser if you will. You can only be angry for so long...

I was surprised to learn that ‘Into Your Arms’ even reached the top spot, so to hear that it stayed there for nine weeks is shocking. Such a great time for music that was. I loved the Cracker song as well as that James album. “Siamese Dream” and “Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can’t We?” are some of the standout albums of 1993 for me.
